September 23, 2024
Tabyana Ali shared Empire Waist’s upcoming release date, and fans were encouraged to ask their local theaters to play it.
A General Hospital star Nicholas Alexander Chavez has excited fans with his current appearance in the Netflix show “Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story,” so too has Tabyana Ali. She shared the trailer for her new film Empire Waist in early August, and fans are eager for more. Ali and the film’s creator have come through with a new announcement about when the film will arrive in theaters.
Theatrical Release Is Upon Us
A joint Instagram post between Ali, writer and director of Empire Waist, Claire Ayoub, and the film’s official page stated, “Y’all made this happen!!! 🤩🤩🤩 As of today there are 40 (!!!) confirmed theaters playing Empire Waist across the US on 9/27 — so let’s pack the house 💃🏽💃🏽💃🏽 See link in bio for the full list!”
The post went on to direct fans to Ayoub’s website where several states were listed with cities playing the film. “Tickets will go on sale next week 💜💖🍿🎟️,” the post went on to say. She added, “I’ll keep updating my Substack post with US & Canadian theaters as more confirmations come in on Monday 🥳. WE LOVE YOU! Claire & Team Empire Waist 💜💖🪡.”
Some Cities Are Holding Out
Although Seaford Cinemas in Seaford New York will be playing EW, Ayoub’s site states, “No theaters in NYC, LA, or Boston have officially confirmed, despite outreach. Don’t give up! Keep contacting your local AMC, Regal, and independent theaters to request the film.” Accompanying the state lists are suggestions for theaters that fans can contact to implore them to carry the film.
While many fans were upset that their city isn’t going to show it, one delighted follower posted the reply, “OMG our small town of Flagstaff is one of the 40 theaters playing Empire Waist. ☺️ I can’t believe it! They won’t list the weekend schedule until Weds. but I will look for times and be honored to have this movie in our town and be one of the first to see it. 😭.”
